Innowera Control Panel web service access errors

Innowera Control Panel when enabled for your instance of Process Runner requires  correct connection parameters to connect to Innowera Control Panel. Innowera Control Panel is configured in Process Runner under 'Options' --> 'Enterprise Settings' --> 'Innowera Control Panel' .  Users are required to enter the server URL where Innowera Control Panel is installed, username and password if User defined mode is selected. Verify button then checks the connection to web service is working or not.

 

Below are few error messages displayed if the connection to web service fails.

 

1.HTTP status 404 : Not found

 

This error occurs in Process Runner when the server URL specified is incorrect. This could be mainly due to name of any page is mentioned at the end of the URL (e.g http://ipaddress/InnoweraControlPanel/Login.aspx) or any typing error in the URL.

Verify the server URL entered. Please note that the URL has to be written upto domain name only and names of pages should not be mentioned at the end of the URL.

E.g: http://ipadresss/InnoweraControlPanel/

 

2.HTTP status 401 : Unauthorized

 

This error occurs when Authentication mode is set to Windows Authentication for Innowera Control Panel and Username/ Password being passed from Process Runner to connect to Innowera Control Panel are invalid. So the configured user will no longer be allowed to access the web service.

Make sure that the credential passed by Process Runner is valid. For User Defined mode check your username for typographical errors, and check that you are using the correct capitalization for your password (e.g. check that the CapsLock setting on your keyboard is appropriate).

3.Unable to connect to the remote server

 

This error occurs when the server address specified does not have Innowera Control Panel installed on it.

Contact your system administrator and update the URL with  the server address where the Innowera Control Panel is installed. Verify if you are able to connect to web service successfully.

4.Time out exception

 

This error occurs when the timeout period has elapsed prior to completion of the operation due to speed limit or the server is not responding or when there are network problems or firewalls.

Contact your system administrator for network related problems, configure the firewall to permit access and verify if you are able to connect to web service successfully.
