Implement Control Panel Central Settings
This section describes how to centrally pass the global setting for each Process Runner user from Control Panel. Central Settings are centrally configured in Control Panel and consumed by Process Runner application. Control Panel allow you to centrally manage, store and distribute various global settings that you can apply to each Process Runner user.
Normally Process Runner global settings load settings from the local user registry. Central settings help the user to set Tools > Options and iNETConnector settings.
Configuring central settings for Process Runner options
To demonstrate the functionality of central setting, we have used Transaction, Excel, Enterprise Settings and License tab settings in the following sections.

To specifying the restrictions
- Open Innowera Control Panel, expand Advanced Tools and select Central Settings.
- Click Add to create new central settings and enter Central Settings Name in text-box
- Select the restricted rule from the Transaction Settings drop-down box and configure the required changes.
- Click Save.
- Select the rule and click Activate Central Settings.
- The created central settings will be activated successfully.
- Now expand Master Controls option on left pane and select Users.
- Select the user you wants assign the central setting.
- Scroll-down to Central Setting section, enable the central setting and assign the created rule to the user.
- Click on Save.
- Now launch Process Runner and switch to Tools > Options > Transaction tab.
Note: Once the central setting is created, ensure to activate the settings, as they will not get applied if the status remains inactive.

Now the authorization is set up for the corresponding user. Refer the image to see the changes reflected in Process Runner:
If the instance is open and the changes/modification is done in Innowera Control Panel and same are been activated, then the changes will be applied only when the user performs following action run, open or record process file.
Let's modify the transaction settings and assign it to same user.
- Select the central setting which needs to be modify and click Edit.
- Select the other restricted rule from the Transaction Settings drop-down box.
- Click Save.
- The central setting is still in revised mode, select the modified rule and click Activate Central Settings.
- The settings will be activated successfully.
- The revised settings will now be applied to the user assigned to this central setting.
- Now go to Process Runner instance and switch to Tools > Option > Transaction tab.
- Modification is done and applied successfully.
This section explains how to configure Excel settings in Innowera Control Panel and implement them to Process Runner Options.
To configure Excel settings in Innowera Control Panel
- Open Innowera Control Panel, expand Advanced Tools and select Central Settings.
- Click Add to create new central settings.
- Enter the name of setting in the Central Settings Name text-box and switch to Excel tab.
- Select the restricted rule from the Excel Settings drop-down box.
- Click Save.
- Select the central setting and click Activate Central Settings.
- The central settings will be activated successfully.
- Now expand Master Controls from left pane and select Users.
- Click Edit icon for the user you want to assign the central settings.
- Scroll-down to Central Settings section.
- Select As per Below > Enable Central Settings and select the central setting which you want to assign for selected user.
- Click Save.
- Now go to Process Runner instance and switch to Tools > Options > Excel tab.
- You can also check your license flag from Help > About. The values which are centrally applied in Innowera Control Panel, will overwrite the existing license flag.
Note: Once the central setting is created, ensure to activate the settings, as they will not get applied if the status remains inactive.

Enterprise Settings in Innowera Control Panel helps you to centrally pass the global setting for each user of Process Runner from Innowera Control Panel. EShare and Innowera Dashboard allows you to configure database settings globally and centrally apply to user's.
EShare
EShare allows you to share and collaborate process files created by different users within an enterprise. Instead of placing the process files on your network drive or local computer, you can keep them at a central location so that other Innowera Process Runner users can use and share the process files. You can deploy EShare during Process Runner initiation or at a later stage whenever needed.
To add EShare connection
- In Innowera Control Panel, expand Advanced Tools and select Global Central Settings.
- On the EShare tab, select Add and provide the following details:
- Connection name: Enter a name for the EShare connection in.
- Database Server name or IP: Enter the host name or IP address of the computer where EShare database server is installed. The port number should follow the host name or IP address. For example, <host_name/ip_address>, <port_number>. By default the port number is 1433. Contact your system administrator for the host name or IP address of the computer where EShare database server is installed.
- Database: The name of the EShare database.
- Authentication Mode: Select one of the following authentication mode:
- Windows Authentication
- SQL Server Authentication
- Username and Password: The SQL Server Authentication credentials.
Contact your system administrator to know which authentication mode to use. The username and password are applicable only to SQL Server Authentication.
- If you want to enable the case sensitive in your EShare server logon credentials, then select Case sensitive windows user name comparison.
- If you want to test the configuration details, then select Test.
- Select Save.
Dashboard
Dashboard provides a graphical representation of how Process Runner is used within an enterprise. It provides management visibility into the life cycle and management reports, metrics and graphical key performance indicators (KPIs). You can configure your Dashboard instance into Control Panel to view the usage of Process Runner within an enterprise.
To add an Innowera Dashboard connection
- Enter a name for the Dashboard connection in Connection name.
- Select one or both of the following types of Dashboard configurations:
- Database Configuration
- Service Configuration
- If you select Database Configuration, enter the following details:
- Database Server name or IP: The host name or IP address of the computer where Innowera Dashboard database server is installed. The port number should follow the host name or IP address. For example, <host_name/ip_address>, <port_number>. By default the port number is 1433. Contact your system administrator for the host name or IP address of the computer where Innowera Dashboard database server is installed.
- Database: The name of the Innowera Dashboard database.
- Authentication Mode: Select one of the following authentication mode:
- Windows Authentication
- SQL Server Authentication
- Username and Password: The SQL Server Authentication credentials.
Contact your system administrator to know which authentication mode to use. The username and password are applicable only to SQL Server Authentication.
- If you select Service Configuration, enter the following details:
- URL: The URL of the Innowera Dashboard instance.
- User default: The Windows domain credentials associated with the Innowera Dashboard instance.
- User define: The sign in credentials of the Innowera Dashboard instance.
- If you want to test the configuration details, then select Test.
- Default configuration: Select your default Innowera Dashboard connection settings that you want to use for uploading stat and log files.
- Upload Timing: Select on of the following database upload timing:
- Manually: The records are uploaded manually.
- End of each Run: The records are uploaded automatically after each successful run of Process Runner.
- On Exit: The records are uploaded at the end of the collective run of Process Runner.
- Upload New Records Only: The database is uploaded only with new records without uploading the existing records.
- Select Save.
- Expand Advanced Tools and select Central Settings.
- Select Edit for the user you want to assign the central settings.
- Select Enterprise Settings tab, select the restricted rule for both EShare and Innowera Dashboard.
- Point them to Connection Name created in Global Central Settings.
- Click Save.
- In Process Runner instance, perform any action such as run, open or record process file.
- Central settings restriction pop-up will appear, you need to restart the Process Runner to reflect the changes which are centrally applied to the current user.
This option is available only when you have provided both Database Configuration and Service Configuration for your Innowera Dashboard connection. The default configuration will set to Database Configuration or Service Configuration depending on the selection you made in the preceding steps.
Now the authorization is set up for the corresponding user. Refer the image to see the changes reflected in Process Runner:
- Click Add, enter Central Settings Name in text-box and switch to License tab.
- Enable Open File Location and select the file open location from the drop-down list.
- Enable Save File Location and select the file save location from the drop-down list.
- Click Save.
- Select the central setting and click Activate Central Settings.
- Now go to Process Runner instance and perform any action such as run, open or record process file.
- Central settings restriction pop-up will appear, you need to restart the Process Runner to reflect the changes which are centrally applied to current user.
- You can also check your license flag from Help > About. The values which are centrally applied in Innowera Control Panel, will overwrite the existing Innowera license flag.
Note: Open file location and save file location functionality is handled through Innowera license, if any changes are made here, it will overwrite the Innowera license functionality.

Now the authorization is set up for the corresponding user.
Export iNETConnector settings from Process Runner and Import those settings into the Innowera Control Panel to assign all this setting to multiple users centrally through Innowera Control Panel. Using Export functionality, you can export all the iNETConnector settings of single/multiple SAP system from Process Runner and import those settings to Innowera Control Panel using .icf configuration file. Export SAP system configuration is allowed only from Home > SAP Shortcuts. Once imported to Innowera Control Panel, you can apply all those settings centrally to a user or group.
To export iNetConnector Settings
- Open Process Runner, perform the following:
- Click SAP Shortcuts from Home group and select Server/Group Tab.
- On the Server/Group tab, select the SAP system and click Properties to make required changes.
- Once the changes are been made, select all the SAP system for which you want to export the configurations. You can press CTRL and select multiple SAP systems randomly or you can also press Shift and select SAP system in bulk to export the configurations of all those SAP systems.
- Click Export. The Export System SAP Configuration window is displayed.
- Select the path to save .icf configuration file and select one of the following:
- Generate File: Selecting this will overwrite the configuration file if .icf file is already existed with same name..
- Append File: Selecting this will add the settings to the end of existing file settings.



Configuration file will export successfully.
- Open Innowera Control Panel, perform the following:
- Expand Advanced Tools and select Central Settings.
- Click Add to create new central settings.
- Enter Central Settings Name in text-box and switch to Other Settings tab.
- Click Browse and select the .icf configuration file to import the iNETConnector settings. List of configuration file keys will be displayed in the grid below.
- Click Save.
- Select the Central Settings and click Activate Central Settings.
- Expand Master Control and select Users.
- Click Edit icon for the user you want to assign the central settings.
- Scroll-down to Central Setting section, select As per Below > Enable Central Settings and select the central setting that you want to assign for selected user.
- Click Save.
- The changes made to the configuration file will be reflected on the Process Runner instance once the user performs following action run, open or record process file.


Note: You can click edit icon to change the value for current central setting.



Note: The changes will reflect only if the same SAP system is available on instance where the settings are imported.
