Process Runner tends to provide facility to lock the process file such that the execution cannot be performed by other user. To enable such type of lock on process file enable 'Run' check box from 'User cannot perform following function' criteria of 'Lock basic operations'

Moreover in order to secure the process file such that the process file cannot be saved without valid password, then enable 'User cannot Save the file without valid Password' check box from 'Lock basic operations'

Furthermore to apply password security to open the process file, then enable 'User cannot Open the file without valid Password' check box from 'Lock basic operations'

Note
	In case where Password Protection is to be applied for the process file, a password is allotted using "Add Password Protection" option. Refer to 'Password Protection' to know more.

The User has an option to select the authorization rights for usage of process file. Using "Lock Excel file related operations", the excel related protection can be enabled on the process file. Following table consist of options and their influence in context to process file protection.

User cannot change Excel settings on home tab	When checked/enabled, the Excel section under Home tab will be disabled and user cannot make any changes in it
User cannot change Mapper	When enabled, user cannot perform any changes in the Mapper tab.
User cannot change Scheduler settings	When enabled, user cannot add/edit/delete schedules.

The Lock Advanced Operations are helpful to apply advanced protection through which the other user of that particular process file cannot alter the sensitive settings of the process file. Following table describes various advanced authentication levels to protect the process file.

User cannot change Control Parameters	When checked, disables the Control Parameters section under Home tab. User cannot perform any action under this section.
User cannot change logon & performance settings	When checked, disables the Logon and Performance section under Home tab.
User cannot change Advanced Excel settings	When checked, disables the Excel Controls settings under Advanced tab.
User cannot change Start and Delays settings	When checked, disables the Start and Delays settings under Advanced tab.
User cannot change Process Connection Settings	When checked, disables the Process Connection settings under Advanced tab.

'Add Password Protection' allows to configure a password that can be used to add any password protection to a process file that is discussed earlier. Follow the given steps in order to configure a new password.

1.Go to 'Settings..' from the drop down of the 'Lock File' command from 'Lock Option' group in 'Edit' ribbon menu.

2.Enable the 'Lock File' option in Lock Setting window.

3.At the 'Add Password Protection', enable 'Password is required for these operations'.

4.Enter a desired password that is to be configured for the authorization.

5.Re-enter the password.

6.Provide a password hint, add a note (Contact Information) at 'Display this contact information when password validation fails' text box and click on OK.

Tip
	If the password validation fails, the note at 'Display this contact information when password validation fails' text box' is displayed. Furthermore the bottom left corner also displays "Lock Set by" and "Lock last changed on" information if an existing lock exist on that particular process file.
