Transfer or Remove License

This section explains how to transfer or remove a Process Runner license.

Typically Process Runner licenses have dedicated user or computer and you cannot transfer it to another user or computer. However, with special instructions from Magnitude, or if you purchase transferable licenses, you may transfer license from:

  • User to user
  • Computer to computer

The license transfer is a two-step process:

  1. Remove or deactivate license on old computer.
  2. Activate license on new computer.

Important: Do not proceed with the license transfer if the license is “Floating”, “Concurrent”, or “Named”. In such case, we recommend you contact your internal license manager.

Remove or Deactivate License from a Computer

This section explains how to deactivate or remove license from an old computer.

To deactivate Process Runner license

  1. Start Process Runner.
  2. On the HELP tab, select Manage License. The License Activation page is displayed.
  3. Select the Deactivate Online option and then select Next. The Magnitude Process Runner dialog box is displayed with a message to indicate that Process Runner cannot run on your system and if you want to remove the license.
  4. Select Yes. The Remove License page is displayed.
  5. To ensure that the Process Runner is not accidentally removed, enter the captcha rEmoVE in the box and your password.
  6. Note: For the password, send an email to InnoweraLicense@magnitude.com along with a screenshot of Help > About. Also, the passwords are case-sensitive.

  7. Enter the password as received from Magnitude, and select OK. The Remove License dialog box is displayed to confirm the license deactivation.
  8. Select Yes, select the Confirm above information and deactivate product license check box, and then select Finish. The Product Activation dialog box is displayed.
  9. Select OK to deactivate Process Runner.
  10. Note: You can manually deactivate Process Runner if you have trouble during deactivating Process Runner online. For information about deactivating Process Runner license manually, see the section on manual deactivation.

Manual Deactivation

This section provides information on how to manually deactivate Process Runner from computers.

Before you manually deactivate the Process Runner license, make sure that you do the following:

Important: To completely deactivate the license from existing computers, uninstalling Process Runner is not enough. You must perform the steps in this section to get the deactivation confirmation code. This code is essential for successful license transfer or removal, otherwise, the license is considered in use.

To manually deactivate Process Runner license

  1. Run Innowera License Removal.exe. A dialog box is displayed.
  2. Select Yes. The Remove License (Process Runner) – Confirmation page is displayed.
  3. To ensure that the Process Runner is not accidentally removed, enter the captcha rEmoVE in the box and your password.
  4. Note: For the password, send an email to InnoweraLicense@magnitude.com along with a screenshot of Help > About. Also, the passwords are case-sensitive.

  5. After Process Runner license is successfully deactivated, you get a license removal confirmation key.
  6. Select Copy Key, paste the Process Runner license key in an email, and send it to InnoweraLicense@magnitude.com.
  7. Select Close to exit from Process Runner.

Activate License on a New Computer

This section explains how to activate a license that you have transferred from an old computer to a new computer.

First, you must install the required version of Process Runner on your new computer, if your computer does not have it. Go to http://www.innowera.com/download.php to download the latest version of Process Runner. Next, you must activate the Process Runner license on your new computer. For information about activating the Process Runner license, see Activate License.

After you deactivate your license, you must send an email to InnoweraLicense@magnitude.com with a screenshot of Help > About of the Process Runner installed on the new computer and the license that you have deactivated and want to transfer to the new computer. Magnitude support resets the activation parameters, such as the computer ID and user ID in the Process Runner license, after which you can activate the license in the new computer.

Note: Whenever you download the Process Runner setup from the Magnitude website after a license transfer or removal, you must provide your email address and mention the reason as license transfer or removal.
