Generate Template

This topic describes how to generate a template of the Process file that can be used with other users who have Process Runner Excel Add-in; the users do not have to install Process Runner on their computers.

Note: Users having Process Runner designer license can generate Process Runner Excel Add-in file and users with Process Runner run-only license cannot generate or save the Process file. Also, multiple Process files can be connected in Process Runner and run in Process Runner Excel Add-in.

To generate template

  1. Open the Process file for which you want to generate the template and select Home > Generate Template. The Generate Excel Template window is displayed.
  2. Enter the following information:
    • Create New Worksheet: Creates a new worksheet in the existing workbook and generate the template.
    • Existing Worksheet: Creates the template in the worksheet that you select in the dropdown list. You can either insert the rows or overwrite the existing data.
    • Header Line: Configures the header line settings as follows:
      • Technical Field Name: Allows Process Runner to retrieve the Technical Field Name at the header of the columns from SAP.
      • Field Description: Allows Process Runner to retrieve the Field Description Name at the header of the columns from SAP.
      • Both: Allows Process Runner to retrieve both Technical Field Name and Field Description at the header of the column from SAP.
  3. Select Insert sample data from recording. The sample data that was entered during the recording of the Process file is inserted in the template file.
  4. Select Insert "Run with Process Runner" button to worksheet. A Run with Process Runner button is added to the worksheet.
  5. Select OK. The template is created and is opened in Excel.
  6. To run the file, select Run and enter the valid SAP logon credentials.
