How to change SAP return Message display settings

You can change the current message settings from Message Settings option in Home tab.

 

Clicking on Message Settings option will display  ‘SAP returned messages setting’ screen. In Basic Setting tab, you can select the message settings from the drop down menu as shown in below screen shot.

 

Your current settings shows only 1st message. Change it to "2-Display only last"  or "3-Display All" the messages. Next time you run this transaction, Process Runner will display last or all the messages in Excel as per this settings.

Enable 'Transform SAP messages as per following settings'  checkbox to map SAP message ID and  number and change description and status that will be displayed in Excel.

 

Id: Specify SAP Message ID that Process Runner should look for.

No: Specify SAP Message number that Process Runner should look for.

Display the message in Excel: Tell Process Runner what Message Text should be displayed when Id and No matches.

Status: Tell Process Runner what Status should be displayed when Id and No matches.

Active: Tell Process Runner if this message translation is active or not.

Copy default messages: Click on this button to add all the default messages present under  ' SAP Return Messages Settings' section under Options -> Transactions.

SAP_returned_message

 

When SAP returns a text message it also returns variable values separately.  The settings in this screen allows to directly capture the variable values in Excel columns of your choice.  SAP could return upto 4 such variable values that can be written to 4 different Excel columns.

 

Example:  SAP may return  "Document 434235001 posted in company code 1000" . In this example  434235001 (document number) and 1000 (company code) are two variables and these variables can be written to Excel columns of your choice.

 

This feature  could be useful if you want to process variable values in another connected processes.

 

•Turn off auto status and log column and use this column: By default, Process Runner automatically finds last available Excel columns and places return log in this column. If you rather want to have a log in specific Excel column, check the box and provide the column you want Process Runner to write a log.

This option allows to add hyperlink to the success message on each run.

 

•Transaction Code:  Enter the transaction code.

•Parameter Command:  Enter the SAP field names respective to the transaction code entered and enter the parameter command to get SAP return message or Excel column value.

%IRETVALUE<SAP message number>%  gives value from SAP message.  E.g: %IRETVALUE1%

%IVALUE@A%  gives value of current row from Excel column

•Add SAP UserID to hyperlink: Enabling this option adds the SAP userID to the hyperlink.
